Rose by Alvin Conway

In subtle ways, I do suppose
From her feet to her head
She was, in a word; a rose
Delicate and blushing red
  —————
She wears a beauty, I call bliss
And it’s gentle in its hue
Love clothes her finest kiss
Like the mist of the morning dew
  ————–
I should say, men adore her much
Before feelings have time to settle
For she can woo you with a touch
Like the silky softness of a petal
—————
How she decorates a room
Like the moon of evening skies
And her finest smile, is but a bloom
One can even see it in her eyes
————–
Her hair cradles the scent of flowers
And that face; how it gleams!
Even if I close my eyes, I sense her powers
And can even feel them in my dreams
 ————-
In obvious ways, I no longer suppose
From her feet to her head
She is, in many ways- a rose
Delicate and blushing red
